Home Data Entry
A smidgin of truth, buried in a web of lies, so pervasive and prevalent that people assume the whole thing is true - Most people who are encouraging this myth have never bothered to even find out if it is true, they just heard somewhere that someone said that....
Home data entry jobs are scams or near scams, almost without exception. I can repeat that if you did not get it the first time, but I doubt that repeating it would help you to actually believe it. In fact, I'd bet that some of you who are reading this have links on your site to supposed legitimate data entry jobs and that you think you are doing people a favor by having them there. If so, you got snookered.
See, data entry is a term that is used to mean something other than what you think it is. And the "jobs" that they promise are not at all what you think they are either.
If you think that home data entry jobs consist of having a real employer, and doing work for which you get paid by the employer, you are wrong. Home data entry is just another name for the electronic version of the envelope stuffing scam in one version, or leads generation in the other version.
In the first version, you buy a book (or report) that is supposed to give you instructions on how to get a home data entry job. This book either contains companies that supply scams, or of companies that may or may not be hiring (but which never are hiring for telecommuters), OR, the book contains instructions on how to use email to mail out "job invitations", so that someone else will pay you for instructions on how to get a home data job - and you do the same thing
to them that the other person did to you.
In the second incarnation, they are not talking about data entry, they are talking about leads generation. They tell you that they will pay you X amount for each "name and address" you type, or for each "contact" you turn in. You cannot just go through the phone book, you must "prequalify" the prospects, to insure that they really are interested. Then the company turns around and sells the leads to other suckers, as "prequalified, high quality leads".
Pay is typically very low, and getting leads is very difficult.
Now, lest you think that all home jobs are bogus, they are not. But you need to keep the rules in mind: If the job is legit, you will NOT have to pay to apply. You WILL have to fill out a regular job application, send in your resume, go through a real interview, provide a suitable working environment (according to the employer's requirements), and provide specific equipment.
And you will have to be qualified to do the job!
Bad work history, lack of skills, or inability to meet their requirements will disqualify you. Competition for real home jobs is fierce, and you have to be well-qualified.
Home Data Entry is a scam term, which is used to sucker you into thinking there are jobs that involve nothing more than typing, and that require no skills. There are not. Home secretarial jobs are RARE, and require years of experience and training to qualify for, and even less skilled jobs require that you have SOME related experience or skills.
If you do not want to believe what I am telling you, then go pay for the instructions. It's your money.
