Internet Marketing Deception

I think the biggest internet marketing deception out there is the one that internet marketers know how to sell anything online. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Internet marketing is a much misunderstood term. Most people think it means successfully selling things online. But internet marketers define it ONLY as "getting people to make impulse buys of electronic downloads". They do not SAY that, but that is all they are talking about. Attach meaning to their words, and this is what they are saying.

  • They do not know how to sell an item that you ship to someone.
  • They do not know how to sell a custom made craft item.
  • They don't know how to sell services of any kind.
  • They don't have a clue how to sell technical goods to people who know what specifications they require.
  • And the methods which they use ONLY work when they are combined with deception to some degree or another, so they do not even work for what they do if you change any of the conditions - let people think about the decision, OR be completely honest about it.

This means, that if you read the average internet marketing book, it will tell you how to do things in a way that will be fatal to your business. Further, much of what it will tell you to do is ineffective marketing, and will benefit the WRITER far more than it will benefit YOU.

I don't expect people to believe me on this one the first time around. I expect you'll have to get taken several times before you realize that something is fatally flawed in what they are telling you. Then it will take even longer to figure out just what it is that IS wrong. Because they NEVER admit that they do not really know how to teach you how to sell your product.

I've been through the ignorance phase, and then through the investigation phase, and through the typical disillusionment phase. I came out the other side though, with an understanding of what was really happening, and once I could see that, I was able to avoid the stuff that does not work, and focus on things that are successful. The difference is amazing, but very subtle at first.

To begin with, the results of unsuccessful and successful tactics look similar - very little. But good tactics will grow, and will gain momentum month by month. They will build to an awesome power, IF you keep your reputation clean, and if you give it consistent work month to month. Bad tactics will never quite get off the ground. They will yield only one or two sales, and never really gain any ability to grow.

If you need a "translation" of a particular advertisement or instruction, we invite you to email us. We'll tell you what the meaning is behind what is being said, and what the truth really is.

And in the mean time, look for instructions that are NOT promoted with hype.
